Question: Perception of India being an outsourcing center?
How does the rest of the world see India as being the outsourcing center of the high tech jobs ? What do people across the world feel about India in this regard ? Are they feeling that costs are being reduced by outsourcing to a cheaper place or feel that they are losing their jobs and their quality of life in their respective countries ? It would be interesting to hear opinions from different people across the globe.

I would say that the perception of the outsourcing is hurting the U.S. and if it continues, the U.S. will be more hurt. don’t get me wrong, i have nothing against India they are a 3rd world country trying to survive like everyone else, i do hold the U.S. government for the bullshit that it has caused by high taxes etc.. for causing these companies to move because of the U.S. not India’s fault. the U.S. is the problem with the economy and everything else going to hell. right now, the u.s. is not the place to live.

When I call a company, and I can’t understand the customer service rep’s “English” I hang up and keep calling until I do get someone I can understand…..It’s very very frustrating!!! and very poor customer service.

They’re outsourcing them because they don’t demand as much pay and their productivity is almost as good as Americans.
This is a huge debate in globalization, as you’re right – it takes jobs away from Americans. Supporters will argue that in the long-term, outsourcing allows for a more advanced workforce. If we outsource more manufacturing jobs, we will be able to focus our efforts on more advanced industries.
The best way for the US govt to combat this is to provide funds for retraining programs for US workers. This will better equip people losing jobs to outsourcing to compete in the service economy the US has developed into.

A LPO can be started on a very small scale at your home also.
It is well recomended to develop intial contacts through resources like internet and friends.
An marketing strategy should be developed to target the customers.
Initially focus on a particular field like trademarks, copyright or patents.
Not necessary you should be able to do all of the given work but get it done through some one else professionally since it will increase your repute of completing the target.
Accepting all the assigmnets given and getting the done will generate turn-over but not income. Since turn-over will only give you the repute for your future development rather than considering the initial gains.
as the turn over will increase the repute will also increase and the you will get the calls automatically.
It really needs a patience of 3-4 years.
Anothe strategy for faster growth of this business is to employ a marketing person for it who can roam arround and fetch some projects but it again depends on you funds that you are putting in.
But I wonder what else do you have in your mind about the same.
