Question: What is the GOP stance on outsourcing of jobs of american workers to other countries?
also, stance on health care reform, repairing of our thousands of delapided and dangerous bridges, and regulating of financial markets and morgage firms to keep them from making fraudulent or misleading mortgage loans to the public?

This question has gotten entirely too long to fully deal with here, but I’ll address the first point. Traditionally, the GOP has favored trade, which is appropriate: trade creates value, or it wouldn’t happen. Semiconductor chips may be assembled in Malaysia or Singapore — but they are designed in the US, by people who earn a lot more money than chip assemblers.
Question: When did American companies start outsourcing to places like China, South Korea, or Cambodia?
An exact year or date would be nice. or a site that you could direct me to.

That’s a bad question. US outsourced to whereever there was cheap labor. Japan, South Korea, China, India have all provided and provide cheap labor. Japan was source for cheap labor in 60′s and 70′s. Korea was cheap labor in 70′s and 80′s. China was in 90′s and now and India also. China basically makes everything for US at a low price and allows us to buy a tshirt for 10 bucks.
Question: Why are American companies still outsourcing and downsizing?
Don’t people understand that the only way to survive this economic situation we really need to staff our companies at home? The outsourcing is one thing but get this, the ones that didn’t outsource downsized and didn’t replace anyone on staff that they let go. This is causing existing employees to work much harder with zero wage compensation. Some people even suffered a wage DECREASE is they wanted to keep their jobs. Why are American companies still doing this? Are they seriously THAT greedy?

The sad truth is that everyone is out for their own pockets. Business owners will outsource if it means they’ll have more money in their pocket at the end of the week and still have satisfied customers. Also, sometimes it’s done to simply cut costs to stay in business.

Question: What do you think about outsourcing American jobs overseas?
What goes around, comes around? When third world countries develop middle classes, they will be importing more American products -so does everyone win with outsourcing? . Or should we fight to keep as many jobs in the US as possible? And, why?

I think it’s rediculous! Why should American companies have the support of the American public when they do what they can to hire people in poor nations at a very minimun wage if that’s even the case anymore, then mark up their product 400% to the American public. At least at Walmart the products may be purchased or made outside of the country but I’m not lining the pockets of the fat-cat billionaire who won’t save the jobs here in America and the prices are reasonable.

What happens to the security of this nation when we produce nothing. Why have many (not all) conservatives, who promoted buying American products in the 1980′s switched to supporting the outsourcing of American jobs?
We do not really produce anything here anymore. Even Levi’s and Converse are made abroad now.
I can understand how a CEO would prefer to pay lower wages, but how do government policies that allow that CEO to do so help the economy of this wonderful country?

It’s absolutely horrible. Free market is unfair market. It doesn’t work for us and it doesn’t work for poor countries as well.
