One country’s loss is another country’s gain. In the US there is a huge debt crisis that has left many homeless and jobless, but for India it’s a different story. In certain parts of India there are American companies everywhere you look. Priya Sridhar explains why that is.

With a hunger for cheap labor when will American companies start hiring Chinese or Mexicans to be the CEO? Why pay an American 20 million to run a company when you can pay a Chinese or a Mexican 100 thousand?

Considering the fact that those two countries have the two largest populations, i’d say….never. There is so much competition already in their own country, anyone on the streets could be hired.

So anyway if all of the U.S. companies stopped sending all of the jobs overseas to China, India, or whatever country and had no foreign workers over there and instead hired only U.S. workers how much do you think the unemployment rate would drop by? Like if outsourcing was eliminated completely no workers in China. Just strictly U.S. workers are the only people employed. I’ll add more details if you need it. It could drop a LOT. But I hate to say this (I really do): we may be set up for failure if this happens because we are so used to very low pricing on things. If we bring jobs back, prices on products will go up – American salaries and benefits are much higher than those overseas. Then consumers might not buy the products. Which means businesses will fail, and the jobs will be lost.
It wouldn’t be that way forever, but certainly for a while.

Sure, Chinese labour is cheaper. However, after World War 2, American labour was the most expensive and yet, America was still competitive without outsourcing any jobs.

Yes, but it was a bubble, USA cant compete anymore, an evidence of what I say is the gargantuan commercial and budget defficit USA has.
US wages are higher than other countries and that has no reason to occur , the outsourcing is a proof of it.
