Everyone knows the biggest problem with the whitewater industry: staffing. At long last, rafting companies are able to take advantage of the power of outsourcing to dramatically improve the experience of their guests.

www.outsourcinglive.com A very common question I get asked is “what camera should I use?” I am recommending two cameras that I use regularly and has been the most effective for all my Youtube videos. Watch the video inside to find out which cameras they are and why I recommend these two. Resources Mentioned Inside The Video Kodak Zi8: www.outsourcinglive.com Canon T3i Rebel / 600D: www.outsourcinglive.com Transcript: A very common question that people are always, always asking is “What camera shall I use?” Because once you’ve recorded your content like what I’m doing right now, you’re going to have to send it over to your video editor. So what is that’s really, really quick and easy and also what is very efficient to be able to get across to them. What Cameras To Use When Outsourcing Videos? And there’s really two options. One, is to use a very basic camera for people who are on a budget which I’m going to share with you shortly. Or two, use a little bit more advanced camera which is the current one that I’m using right now to record on. And both is really dependent on your budget and also depending on the quality of the video that you want to get out there. Obviously the more you pay for a particular camera, the better the quality you’re going to get but it won’t break an arm and a leg. Option 1: Kodak Zi8 All right so the first one that I’ve been using for quite some time before I actually upgraded to this camera that I’m currently recording on is a Kodak Zi8 camera

Always bringing the cutting edge of paddling. First it was the Kayak Midget, then foamboating and now outsourcing. Can’t wait to see what’s coming next.

@Outsourcinglive Do you think that it would be worth it?

  7. Biankatot1995 says:

what lens are you using for the canon t3i in this video?

  8. Outsourcinglive says:

@SIRbeats101 You can use the Canon 60D which is the next version up. That’s just got a bit more advanced features. Thanks,

  9. SIRbeats101 says:

What’s the camera your friend uses that is a bit more advanced?

@MrIpodtouchhelpers I personally haven’t used the Sony video cam to record. The most important aspect as I mention is to ensure it has an external mic to capture good sound. Try the video cameras I recommend in the video first, as the Sony Camera you mentioned is discontinued… Thanks.

Does Sony DCR-SR42 works good for making videos?

Thank you SO Much For this Video !

Thank you, this was very useful! I have a reflex (Sony Alpha) but It doesn’t film videos, I was trying to understand If I could still use it connected with a cable to my pc but I read that you just ruin the lenses, you think it’s true? In this case I’ll buy the kodak it looks really nice :)

@HeyImNatalia Great question. There’s a little trick for the Kodak Zi8, you will need to mount a mirror behind the camera with the tripod. Otherwise with the Canon T3i Rebel it has a flip screen so no need to use a mirror. That way I can see myself and be in focus. I also have a remote to press record too.

  15. HeyImNatalia says:

For both cameras, how do you see youself while recording to make sure you are in focus and in the frame?

  16. Outsourcinglive says:

@pimbech Will take your feedback and do that. Thanks.

@cruisinaltitude My video editor is using Adobe Premier Pro. Thanks

  18. cruisinaltitude says:

    Thanks for the video.

What software are you suing for editing Tyrone?

    Kerwin.

  19. cruisinaltitude says:

@chrissilverthong I use the Zi8 as well plus the Flip Mino HD and and an older Kodak that I have. I put the Flip over the stove and use the other two for the wide shots in my mini kitchen :-) . Also, if you have an iPhone, Samsung Galaxy S II or an ipad2 they have pretty good cameras too. Just have to figure out how to mount them :-) .

  20. chrissilverthong says:

    @Outsourcinglive Thank you Tyrone.

  21. pimbech says:

Can you please lower the sound of the intro, because it is way to loud compared to the sound of your voice.

  22. Outsourcinglive says:

@chrissilverthong Hi Chris, the Kodak Zi8 is perfect for that and it’s not expensive. Under $200.00. Plus it allows you to record for hours (depending on the size of your memory card). Thanks,

  23. chrissilverthong says:

Hey Tyrone, can you please recommend a good inexpensive video camera for doing short 15-20 minute workout, cooking and video interviews. Thanks in advance

@HYVAssistant The camera is excellent and I’m sure you are going to love it! I usually only use Miro Video Converter to do smaller files, as I’ve had it crash on really big files, which is why I’ve recommended using Handbrake. Try that first and let me know how you go?

  25. HYVAssistant says:

@Outsourcinglive will Miro Video converter work? I just bought the camera and now I am going to get serious about my videos. Thanks for the inspiration

  26. Outsourcinglive says:

@HYVAssistant Oh yeah I forgot about the PC.. (hint hint, get a Mac!). Try Handbrake for PC, it allows you to convert the files as well. Hope that helps.

  27. HYVAssistant says:

@Outsourcinglive I have a PC and the Elgato Turbo HD works for only MACs I am curious as whether you know of a tool for Windows?

  28. Outsourcinglive says:

@HYVAssistant Good questions Owen. These questions will be answered in the next few videos as I’ve already created them about this. Anyway to answer them, it’s a Condensor Lapel mic that you can buy from Tandy or Dick Smith. It’s around $30 with a switch and uses a watch battery to power it. Also to reduce the file sizes I have a device called Elgato Turbo HD (Gideon recommended it) and it helps dramatically drop the file sizes. (that video is coming out shortly too) Thanks.

  29. HYVAssistant says:

Tryone awesome video! What lapel mike did you buy to use with the Canon camera because I am going to buy this camera. Also since the files end up being very large, how do you reduce the size? Please advice
