Question: What is the fallacy with this pro outsourcing american jobs to china argument?
One person says…”americans sell products all over the world, therefore if (we) expect them to buy (our) products, then (we) must buy (their) products.
Ok, I want to see how many people can explain why this person’s argument is a lie.
how about this argument “Who are you to tell me that I cant make my products in China where labor is cheaper”? whats the fallacy with that argument?

the only reason jobs are being sent overseas is because its too expensive to have employees or run a company in the US
every time taxes/fines are increased by the government jobs leave the US to never return, when taxes are raised to the point its not viable to operate in the US the company and/or its jobs leave which mean even fewer taxes can be collected which makes the greedy overpowering US government increase taxes even more
Question: Can somebody please explain to me how outsourcing jobs is good for the economy?
Correct me if I’m wrong, but don’t jobs such as manufacturing jobs build an economy?

Question: Within the computer industry, which segments will have job growth, without fear of outsourcing to other places?
The world of computers is so vast – there are so many sub-divisions of labor. I think about topics like “software engineer” or “network engineer” and I dont fully know what they are. Within the world of computers, are there and areas of work with 1-expected job growth and 2-job security, meaning they wont be out sourced ?

Maintenance, installation and repair. Everything else can be outsourced.

The US company in New York might give the outsourcing either to its own firm in China, or real Chinese firms.In the first case,it is foreign direct investment.In the latter case,it is just a buyer.
Question: Under which administration did outsourcing to China begin?
America is having such issues with all of the outsourcing it does to other countries like jobs being lost and tainted products. I can’t remember the last time I saw something made in the U.S.A. I feel the need to get a little background and knowledge and not feel so ingorant. Any good background info would be appreciated.

Question: Will outsourcing to countries like China and Indonesia backfire on American investors?
I fully understand the risk vs return principle—but how long can we continue to do business with government that could potentially turn “against” foreign investors? The closest example I have is with Cuba’s revolution and their nationalization of Texaco’s refineries after Fidel took total power. From a purely business standpoint, such companies like Texaco lost big from such a loss-how can we protect our investments in China–if China decides it’s in their best interest to nationalize American or English, etc owned properties and plants? Any ideas or thoughts would be appreciated. Thanks!

no. investments overseas are generating more profit, as a percentage, than similar investments at home. with a recession looming, this trend will likely continue for at least another year. additionally…the leadership in these countries know said investments are good for maintaining harmony among their people.

I’m doing a research paper on the subject and its effects on the U.S. economy. Just trying to see what other peoples opinions are on the matter. I am personally for it but maybe someone can convince me otherwise or further support my beliefs.

In a mixed market system, who can say there’s anything wrong with outsourcing? If consumers as a whole cannot choose to buy products from companies that don’t outsource, then the people asking the government to moderate outsourcing is hypocrisy and ridiculousness.

Question: Does unemployment or a goverment program help pay for college if my job was lost to overseas outsourcing?
I heard this exists, something about it also gives you an extra $ 100 a week with your unemployment while you are going to school up to two years. All very rumoresque.

Not really.
There are re-education programs out there that are government funded (usually state, county, or city, not federal.) If you qualify, and they have the budget, they will pay for some retraining to get you back into the workforce.
Check with your local government and you unemployment office. A lot of the time these programs run out of funding about halfway through the year, but if you are one of the lucky ones, you may be able to take some courses.
Question: How many US jobs have been lost to outsourcing in 2006?
We the people never hear the count on how many US jobs are lost to outsourcing to other countries and more important what our government is doing to turn this trend around. I feel the balance is way out of line and is hurting our country tremendously! I’ve talked to many others who feel the same way!
